Sad news, I’m afraid. I will have to suspend this blog for the time being. I have ruptured my Achilles’ tendon while exploring the delights of Ischia. I have to return to the UK for what will be, inevitably, a long period of treatment.
This is a blow. There’s no two ways about it. I am trying to be sanguine, but I find it hard to be cheery. However, I am equally determined that this is a break in play, not the end of the game. Whether I continue later this year or pick up where I left off next will depend on the doctor’s advice.
Thank you all for reading this blog. Knowing that there were lively and discerning minds logging on to follow my progress has been a wonderful support.
I trust we’ll meet again in the same way in the not too distant future.
Ps. I have used the photograph above because the ankle is question is rather prettier than my own at present. It was also the last photo I took before my accident.
